Setting up Pinecone

This article will walk you through the process of setting up a Pinecone index from the console.

First, go to the Pinecone homepage.

Sign up for an account.

Click on the "Create your first Index" button.

Create an index with the following options:

• Index Name: Name of the index
• Dimensions: Dimensionality of the vectors
• Metric: Similarity calculation method (cosine, dotproduct, euclidean)
• PodType: Type of Pod

Wait for the index creation process to complete.

Once the index is created, you can click on it to access various information. The console allows you to perform the following database operations:

• UPSERT
• QUERY
• UPDATE
• FETCH
• DELETE

You can find your API key under the "API keys" section in the sidebar. Additionally, you have the option to create a new API key.
